White Chocolate- WC
Tom Smith- TS
TS- Welcome to the Sportsnation!!! Im your host, Tom Smith, and today we are going to get 1 on 1 with White Chocolate from the CSSL. He was Reebok's 6th Man last year and now hes heading to And1 to get his first start of his career.
WC- Hello, thanks for having me Tom.
TS- So you have a pretty good season with Reebok. How would you describe it?
WC- My first season in the CSSL was so awesome. I got to go to an championship team but we couldnt win it at the end but still my first year was awesome. I did very good off the bench and I couldnt believe how well i played. I didnt think I would get to play much but i did and i showed up every game.
TS- You sure did. So how do you think your championship performance was?
WC- For being my first year in the CSSL i did pretty good. I averaged i think 18.3 ppg, 3.3 apg, 3.3 rpg, within 40.6 mpg. Which i know i probably could of done better but we you have a team full of all-stars and your coming off the bench then you would say im doing pretty good. Even though we lost there is always next year for us.
TS- Coming off the bench and putting up the numbers you were put you in a place to win the 6th Man Award. Even though you lost you did pretty well coming off the bench. What are your thoughts about not winning the award?
WC- I was one of the candidates for the award and i showed up to it every night we played. I didnt let my team down at all but when all the people voted I lost and i understand. Great Wall had a great performace in all of his games as well and i respect that guy very much. He deserved it as much as I did but he won and thats all i can do about that.
TS- With the offseason in place right now, you got traded to And1. What do you think about that?
WC- Well i got traded even though i liked Reebok a lot i still wanted to try to help a team that hasnt done so good but needs my help. Reebok didnt need my help and And1 i thought wanted my help but as of right now im on the Trade Block. So im not sure where i will be going soon. All i know is that my contract says I have a starting clause this year and i will start at AND1 unless I get released or i get traded.
TS- Are there any teams out there that you would like to go to?
WC- Well, as of right now, not really. I just want to play ball i dont care where. I know im not the best in the league but i still want to play. If i end back with Reebok i dont care i just want to start and be able to help my team.
TS- Well hopefully you will end up where they need your help. But how about your brother, Damarcus " D- Train" Tyler, what do you think he will be doing for the team he gets picked up by?
WC- Damarcus is a beast. In Tennessee this boy broke alot of records. Hes got alot of hype and I think he really will do whatever he can do make his team alot better. I would compare him to the next Tim Duncan. Very aggressive and knows where to be on the court and off the court. He has alot of smarts, if he can stay healthy im pretty sure he will be at the top of his draft class.
TS- Well, I wish the best of luck to you both and I want to thank you for being on the show with us. I hope to be able to catch you down the road and hollar back at you.
WC- No problem. Just give me a call man and i'll be here.
TS- Thats our show today, we want to thank all of you out there for listening to us and for putting up with us for this 30 minutes. To Tell White Chocolate, Thanks again for coming. But we'll see you all again next time on Sportsnation!!!
