JS - Welcome to another episode of Sports Talk. Today we are talking about the Cssl Finals. It a David versus Goliath story with the surprise And1 team facing the defending champions Nike in the Finals. With me here today in NBA analyst Greg Anthony to break down the series. Welcome Greg.
GA - Thanks John. This is going to be a great series and I can't wait for it to start.
JS - I couldn't agree with you more Greg. This should be a good series but don't you think that And1 is way overmacthed?
GA - Yes they are. Nike has a slight advantage when you look at the starting line-ups and Nike has a huge advantage when it comes to the bench.
JS - Well, that's because And1 doesn't even have a bench after two of their players were kicked out of the league.
GA - Yea, it was a big blow for And1 to lose Starbury and Q-York like they did. It's a huge accomplishment for them to make the Finals let alone win it.
JS - How much do you think not having Starbury has hurt And1?
GA - It didn't hurt them very much so far. They did make the Finals without him. But now they need another big time player and I think it's going to hurt them. Exile has played well but he's a rookie and with all of the pressure i'm sure that they would feel better with Starbury at the helm.
JS - Exile has played well but you can't overlook Masterlock who has also done an excellent job in his rookie season being named Rookie of the Year.
GA - Absolutely John. Neither of these guys played like they were rookies but only time will tell what these guys are really made of. Don't forget that Nike is playing a pretty good rookie in Prodigy. He was everyone's early pick for Rookie of the Year.
JS - Nike had it's entire starting line up in the All-Star game. They were the pick to win it all again since the very first game of the season. Then they make a couple of great trades and become even better. Does And1 have any hope at all?
GA - Come on John. There's always hope. And1 has a very good team. Mad D and Hulk are excellent players in their own rights. They also have the league's MVP in The Machine. You can never count out a team that has talent like that.
JS - Ok so what's your prediction?
GA - Man, I have to say that Nike will win it but it will be a battle. I think that And1's lack of a bench will be their downfall. I will add that I love an underdog and I'll be rooting for And1 to pull the upset.
JS - I gotta agree with you there Greg. I'll be rooting for And1 but I just don't think that they will have enough firepower in the end. That's all the time we have today so i'd like to thank Greg for his expert anaylsis.
GA - Thanks, John and oh yea, GO AND1!
