AL = Alexander Love (Nike Street Team Reporter)
JN = Julius North
AL: Welcome to another interview with the number one coach in the CSSL, Julius North! Mr. North, how does it feel having the first CSSL Championship Ring?
JN: Feels great, nothing can make me feel happier.
AL: Yeah, I remember the last thing you said in our last interview that the next time we meet, you would have that ring right on your finger. Looks like you didn't lie.
JN: I always keep my word Alex, but the real heros were the players. I mean Bonafide, the Finals MVP, just brokeout having a triple double in almost every game! The Choker, Hot Shot, Show Stoppa, Fresh Skillz, everyone did a great job in the Finals.
AL: Great to hear Mr. North, but this was a HUGE offseason for you. This really tested your team.
JN: It did Alex, first we didn't have anyone in the draft, but we signed Wreck. That was our first big move. Then we did some trades, brought Speedy to our team, then signed rookie The Game, and last we just made a big trade with Reebok. Incoming Jazz, Defensive Player of the Year canidate. That was a huge move for us.
AL: Yeah, tell us about that trade.
JN: Well Alpha Male came to me one day, told me he was a little dissappointed with the playing time he was getting. I could feel for him, he was not playing with his full potential. So I asked around, but no trade offers were made. But today, I called Reebok, because I saw that they needed depth. I also got Alpha Male on the phone and we had a long trade talk. We finally reached a deal, Reebok's First Round Draft Pick of this year and Jazz for Elevate and Alpha Male. Sounded at first like Reebok did not like the deal, but I was surprised he agreed. But I know Alpha Male won't dissapoint, since he will finally get more playing time starting for Reebok. This was a similar situation with former Nike player, Hurricane. I wish the best of luck to Alpha Male.
AL: Sounds like you look out for your players, and also it seems you love to trade. You've made more trades then any coach.
JN: I feel that I want to meet as many players, and I want to give each and every player a chance to shine. But this club I have now, I know they won't be leaving for a LONG time.
AL: With Season 2 underway, you've went 2-0. Great start just like last season. Any new goals for your team?
JN: Another ring, but I know alot of other teams have improved, Puma and Converse to name a few. It's going to be tough repeating, but I feel with the new Nike team, we have a great chance. I mean, hey, we ARE the defending champs!
AL: Nicely put, any last comments before we end this interview?
JN: I just want to wish every player that has ever worn a Nike jersey the best of luck wherever they are. Nike all the way!
