MHH - Michael "Hurricane" Henson
GA - Greg Anthony
----------------------------------------------------------------------
GA - Welcome to another episode of "Meet the Playa". The regular season is over and so are the playoffs for some. Today we have Michael Hurricane Henson with us again. Welcome back Hurricane.
MHH - Thanks Greg. I'm happy to be here but I wish that I was too busy to attend and still in the playoffs.
GA - Converse played well the last third of the season and wasn't the walkover that everyone thought that they would be. You have to be happy with that.
MHH - Definitely. I was nice to get a playoff win but winning the series would have been a lot better.
GA - You still have a lot to be proud of. Your peers voted you the Most Improved Player and you hold the season record for most points in a game. Which do you care more about?
MHH - I would give up both of them if I were still in the playoffs. If I have to choose one, I'm happier with the Most Improved Award since it reflects my efforts over a whole season and not just one game.
GA - Speaking of still being in the playoffs, you were a big part of Nike for two thirds of the season and they are in the Finals. Any feelings on that?
MHH - Sure. I wouldn't mind still being with Nike. They were and still are a great team. They were the favorites to win it all early in the season and that hasn't changed.
GA - Do you still have any hard feeling about being traded?
MHH - I'd be lying if I didn't. I'm a very competitive guy and miss playing for the title. But then again, everything happens for a reason. With Converse I have been able to grow as a player and have become better because of it.
GA - With the season over, will that also mean that your run with Converse is over? You have a player option in your contract and can leave. Care to share your thoughts?
MHH - I am leaning towards staying with Converse but I am looking at all of my options. I want to see how Converse looks after the draft before I make my final decision.
GA - Have you had any interest from other teams and who are they?
MHH - A couple of teams have shown interest but I don't really want to disclose who they are.
GA - Could a reunion with Nike be in the future?
MHH - I can tell you that it doesn't look very likely. I don't want to go to a team where I won't be a scoring option. I've worked on my game too hard not to get the ball.
GA - Changing subects, what parts of your game do you plan on working on in the off-season?
MHH - My three main thing to improve on are passing, defense, and rebounding. I've proven that I can score and now I want to become a more complete player.
GA - Well, whatever team you end up with, i'm sure that they will be happy to have you with an attitude like that. We're out of time so i'd like to thank Hurricane for speaking with us today and to wish him the best of luck.
MHH - Thank you Greg.
