MHH - Michael "Hurricane" Henson
GA - Greg Anthony
----------------------------------------------------------------------
GA - Hello and welcome to another fine episode of "Meet the Playa". I'm your host, Greg Anthony, and with us again tonight is one of the rising stars in the CSSL, Michael Hurricane Henson. Welcome back to the show Hurricane.
MHH - Thanks you Greg. As always it's great to be here.
GA - It's two weeks into the second half of the season and it's also been two weeks since you were traded from Nike to Converse. How do you like playing for Converse so far?
MHH - It's great. The team has played well and i've had a blast. It's been a lot more fun that I had expected.
GA - Why is it so much fun as compared to playing with Nike?
MHH - For one, I am the primary scoring option. I love having the opportunity to show what I can do out there on the court. I have also been moved from small forward to shooting guard and that has given me even more confidence.
GA - It definitely shows Hurricane. Since You have joined Converse you scoring average has soared and more importantly, Converse has gone 1-1 after posting a dismal 1-9 over the first 10 games. What;s your take on that?
MHH - I have always known that I could score. I was just never really given the opportunity. As for our improved record, I think it's a few things that contibuted to it. I'd like to think that my play has been a factor. We also made another trade to improve the mood in the locker room and open up some playing time. That helped a lot too.
GA - The Converse front office has to be delighted with your play for them so far don't they?
MHH - I would hope so. They have said how impressed they were with my work effort and both of my games with them have been pretty impressive. They also know that i'm going to work my butt off to get better.
GA - Ok Hurricane. I'm going to put you on the spot now. Do you think that your team can now consider itself a force in this league?
MHH - I don't think that we can say that just yet. I do know that we aren't considered a pushover anymore and that we might even scare a few team come playoff time. We have the talent and it looks like we can win games if we keep up the effort.
GA - What do you think that your team needs to do to put you over the top?
MHH - I don't know. I think the key is for everyone to work harder at getting better. I have worked primarily on my perimeter defense and rebounding. I wouldn't mind improving on my poassing skills either.
GA - With an attitude like that, i'm sure your best days are still ahead of you. Hurricane, thank you again for coming back to the show. As always, it was a pleasure to speak with you.
MHH - Thanks Greg. You know that I love being on the show. Hopefully i'll be back when Converse wins the championship (winks)
