Machine's Do Shines Way to Victory
October 22, 2005
When the Puma street team showed up to the And1 court for a week 3 CSSL showdown they saw a light at the end of the tunnel. Or, actually, more of a glaring brightness on the top of Darko Milicic's head. In an attempt to rally his team after a fairly slow (1-1) start, And1's star center shook things up.
"I thought that the And1 organization had built a lighthouse near their court, considering he (The Machine) is so tall," commented Puma point guard, Silk.
Close friend and Puma forward Michael "Hurricane" Henson was shocked, "I love Darko to death, but wow, I thought he fell in a tub of bleach!"
Well, the new makeover did the trick, as And 1 routed the visitors 136 to 87. New Puma power forward, Spike, fouled out in only 12 minutes of court time. "I was kinda distracted by Machine's crazy hair," was all he could say during the post-game interview. The And1 team outrebounded the Puma team by 20 and won by an amazing 49 point margin.
All game it appeared that the Puma players couldn't find the broad side of a barn from the field. Shots clanked and some found nothing but air. The Puma coach refused to let his players use hair as an excuse for the embarassing offensive performance, "That's ridiculous, if they had a problem with it, they should have put on some sunglasses and got their (expletive)s out there. This is my saddest moment with this franchise."
With a new hair-do to rally around, And 1 shares first place in the Southern Conference with an impressive 4-1 mark. "Maybe it was my hair, but we've won 3 games in a row, and so I guess I have shaken things up for the better," replied Milicic.
Can hair save a season that was off to a slow start? Well see for yourself...
