Underdog was the man at Duke university. He was unstoppable. He went 20 and 20 each game. Now with puma he is just a Rookie trying to replace the only real inside scoring prescense for a championship calibur team. Tractor and smooth jr. leaving left some doubt about puma this season. Loosing there #1 bench option and #1 inside scoring option, Puma looked like a bunch of new jersey nets wanna-bes (afro and silk in frontcourt). Drafting underdog and sniper brough some new hope to these boys. "Its kinda a lot of pressure", says UnderDog "ya know with the whole replacing tractor stuff". Hes not alone. Hes got the most talented backcourt a serious 3 point threat in rip, and 2 vets downlow to help him ease the transition to pro basketball.
So far in 2 preaseason games, he preformed well, grabing a total of 39 boards and scoring over 50 points. Puma has won both of those games. Hes also been a defensive force, limiting his opponets scoring oportunities. However those games have been agains't rookies or younger development players."they're young like me, and i outplayed them" Underdog makes a good point. However there has also been many other rookies preforming well. exile With and1 has been playing great, proving that he is the best 2nd round choice, and maybe better than many 1 st choices. Masterlock, securing an mvp game award looks impressive. Yao ming was great. If Underdog can't excede expectations set before him, puma may struggle a little this season.
Sniper, another player set to improve imself, has already played oustanding basketball. He lived up to his "defensive stopper" title by completely taking speedy out of the game, and limiting rain man to 17 points. "he won't slow us down on offense" says the puma coach. Sniper was one assist away from a triple-double agains't nike. At any rate, sniper should bounce back from getting cut last season in the first few games. "its a great chance to start over" says sniper. AFro and silk will lead the puma attack once again, and if underdog can squeese into tractor's old shoes, then puma will a contender to the title once again.
