His Name is Darko. He came to this country as a scared 17 year old boy. He instantly became famous by being selected the number two overall pick in the NBA Draft by the Detroit Pistons. He was tall and thin and could barely speak a word of english. His life was about to change.
The Pistons GM, Joe Dumars saw all of the potential in this youngster. Big men with his skill were rare atr best. Unfortunately, Darko was drafted by a team that was one of the best in the league. He wasted away on the bench for two long seasons as fans and analysts called him a bust. His confidence was gone.
Then one day things changed. The coach who refused to play him was fired. He received an invitation to play for his country. A fire was lit in this young man's heart and he started to play well.
A new found passion was blooming and his confidence soared. When he wasn't playing or practicing, Darko would be in the weight room working out. He was inspired. He wanted to be perfect. He not only wanted to play but he wanted to dominate. He became......The Machine!
Now, at the ripe old age of 19, Darko enters the graces of the CSSL. "The Machine" as he's known, still has a lot to prove and hopes to look like a real #2 overall pick. After 2 pre-season games, Darko has averaged almost 20 points, 14 boards, and 4.5 blocks per game. And for the machine, it's only the begining.
